Last Gasp Goal Sinks Spurs
26/09/1908 at Anlaby Road, Hull
Tottenham headed up to Hull on the back of two cracking home wins; in which they scored six and conceded only one goal. With only one defeat in four; Tottenham sit sixth in the table having played one or two games less than any of the other teams above them.
Hull however sit rock-bottom having played five and have only one registered 3-2 win at home against Clapton Orient on the fifth of September. There last game was away to Barnsley which ended in a two one defeat with Temple scoring the Humberside’s only goal of the match. Going into this match both teams could not be more different in terms of confidences.
The last time these two teams meet it was not the most exciting game for the crowed as it ended goalless, this time the 12,000 fans at the match were hoping for something a bit more, with the Tottenham fans expecting all the point to be coming home to White Hart Lane and who would blame them.
Hull city introduced two players from the defeat last week with Bowell and John Taylor coming into the team with Gordon and Mcquillan being out owing to injury. Tottenham make one change of personal from there two-one win over Bolton with Macfarlane being replaced with Seeburg; this is due to MacFarlane picking up an injury at Leeds which reoccurred again in the last match and his arm has been in a sling for the last week, the club wish him a speedy recovery. Minter moves out to inside right with Seeburg taking the centre forward position.
